-Saturday Oct. 18th, noon-3pm,
Really Really Free Market!

No money. No trades. Everything is free!

This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism sucks. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.

...and later that evening, 6pm, Conflict Awareness for Movements

We’ll tell you a little about what the TRUCE collective is doing and why, and talk about the importance and relevance of developing an awareness of conflict culture in the context of movements and campaigns. Then we'll facilitate a sharing circle where we explore 3 questions from the Restorative Circle system building process; What do we do when conflict becomes painful that works well? What do we do that doesn’t work quite so well? How do we dream it could be? And something else happening around town and in the forest this fall!

Upper Campus FOREST WALKS schedule: Fall 2014

Fall in Santa Cruz is the season of renewal. Parched trees shed their needles, cones, nuts & crispy leaves; long-awaited showers bring the sleeping splendor of the forest to life. Let’s explore together in this awakening forest that is threatened by UCSC expansion.

Walks are free and hosted by volunteers, with no university sponsorship. Unless otherwise stated, rain does not cancel!

Saturday, October 18th: Huckleberry Appreciation Walk
w/ FarmaJohn—12pm @ North Remote
Bring water. All ages welcome!
Embark on an exploration into the small world of the Huckleberry. We’ll learn and share all we can about the huckleberry plant and its forest friends on this interpretive nature walk.

Sunday, October 19th: Silent Hike
w/ Monica—11am @ North Remote
RSVP: msalandr@ucsc. edu
Let’s come together whisper-quiet, hiking the first half of this walk in silence and then we’ll decide together what to do with the second half. Please bring water!

Tuesday, October 21st: Curiosity Leads the Way
w/ Agustin—2pm @ N. Remote
A wandering ramble through the woods of Upper Campus. We’ll let our intuition and curiosity be our guides as we walk and explore together.

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
