You can sing or play a song you are excited about.  You can ask questions you need help answering. You can rant about things that piss you off.  And you can just come and soak it all up.

Donations directly benefit this community-supported space. Signups for performance at 7:30 fill up quickly.

And on Wednesday Nov. 5th at 7pm, there's a show at our neighbor's place, the Bike Church with...

Squirrel Butter!  Yup, live in concert among the bicycle bits.  From Seattle.  With old time, early country and blues.  Sliding scale, $5-$10.  It'll be a good time you can be sure! More about Squirrel Butter at http://charliebeck.net/squirrelbutter/Squirrel_Butter/Home.html

And something else happening around town and in the forest this fall!

Upper Campus FOREST WALKS schedule: Fall 2014

Fall in Santa Cruz is the season of renewal. Parched trees shed their needles, cones, nuts & crispy leaves; long-awaited showers bring the sleeping splendor of the forest to life. Let’s explore together in this awakening forest that is threatened by UCSC expansion.

Walks are free and hosted by volunteers, with no university sponsorship. Unless otherwise stated, rain does not cancel!

Wednesday, November 12: Forest Birding by Ear
w/ John (JOGA)—7:00am @ North Remote
Bring binoculars & a field guide if you have them. RSVP appreciated: jfgarret@ucsc.edu
There are many birds around Upper Campus throughout the fall, though some are high in the canopy and can be challenging to see. We’ll listen closely to identify whatever’s there and sieze on opportunities for photon-to-eyeball
interaction.

Saturday, November 15th: Upper Campus—Have you been Lichen it?
w/ Penelope—1pm @ North Remote
Bring if you have it: notepad, handlens
Join me on a walk around Upper Campus, meetin’ and greetin’ the lichens and hopefully some other members of kingdom fungi. Yay! Let’s get stoked!

Sunday, November 16th: All Ages Nature Games
w/ Naali—2pm @ North Remote
Heavy rain cancels
Learn to play fun games like firekeeper, bear/salmon/mosquito, and ‘fire in the forest.’ These games help kids to develop their senses and awareness in nature, but I want to play them with adult friends too! (all ages are welcome)

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
