at 6:30pm: Cocktales: stories from the masculine edge. This is a closed, reservation only event. Cocktales is a storytelling circle convened exclusively for those who identify as men that's focused on the topic of male sexuality. We provide a safe space for men of all backgrounds and sexual orientations (including transgender and gender nonconforming people) to share personal stories about their sexual journeys, with an intent toward becoming free of shame, fear, inhibition, guilt, confusion, stereotypes, abuse, and social conditioning. As we become more aware and heal ourselves as men, we heal and transform the culture that created us.  Questions? Email tccallanan@gmail.com

And in a couple of weeks, Wednesdays, at SubRosa!

Abuse and Patriarchy: A Three-Part Workshop on Wednesdays May 25, June 1, June 8, 7:30pm:  a three-part workshop about unity and struggle (at SubRosa)

study guide and curriculum available at http://unityandstruggle.org/2016/04/23/learning-to-fight-learning-to-heal/ free and open to the public.

brought to you by the public school project.  more info at https://publicschoolsantacruz.wordpress.com/2016/05/02/abuse-and-patriarchy-a-three-part-workshop-about-unity-and-struggle/ and other offerings also available at the website

Info from the above link:  Learning to Fight, Learning to Heal. Like everybody else, Unity and Struggle members have grappled with how to address abuse and patriarchal behavior in our society, and in left organizations including our own. We don't have easy answers, but we've found it helpful to study the nature of abuse under capitalism and different responses to it. Here is the syllabus for an abuse study that some U&S members and friends are currently test-driving in several cities, based on interest. We hope other groups will take up the reading list, adapt it to their needs, and use it to craft responses to abuse in our movement and lives.

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
