At SubRosa in the days ahead!
703 Pacific Ave. (downtown Santa Cruz)

-Thurday, Sept. 28, 7pm – 9pm:  E-Privacy Workshop: Week 2

We live in an age of unparalleled surveillance and ubiquity of digital technology. Join us at SubRosa to wokshop protection and awareness. This week we will discuss risk models (eg, what we're protecting against, what we can't protect against, CIA arsenal, limits there), different types of attacks, install an ad blocker, HTTPS everywhere. Update operating systems and programs! (Bring laptop if you have one; we can share if you do not).  https://www.facebook.com/events/1414057362043548

-Friday, Sept. 29, 7:30pm - 10:30pm:  Open Stage

Subrosa's new take on Open Mic. Once a month on a Friday! What better way to spend a Friday night?! Sign ups at 7:30pm. Show at 8! Each act will get 5-10 minutes depending on the evening.

This is a space for performance of all kinds. A space to be witnessed in your work. Performance art. Drag. Dance. Poetry. Music. Essays. Rants. Interactive games. Magic. This is an Open Stage.

With a critique of capitalism and acknowledgement of intersectional systems of oppression, we honor and wish to uplift less heard voices including those of queer, trans, femme, people of color and indigenous folks. We strive to create a brave space where we work with what and who is in the room.  We hope for this space to serve the radical performing artists in Santa Cruz and are open to collaboration! Donations accepted and appreciated.  https://www.facebook.com/events/288793444935504

AND REGULAR OPEN HOURS (Come come on by and have some coffee or strike up a conversation)
Wednesdays  from 10:30 - 2pm // Fridays from 10am - 1pm // Sundays from 11am - 3pm // & open for events & meetings

And the SubRosa fundraiser is still ongoing and in fact our rent is going up $150!

Can you join us and contribute?
(and money is processed through a secure WePay account).

Please consider making an ongoing monthly donation (your monthly donations are helpful for us to be able to consistently budget our expenses, like rent).  Of course, one time and other periodic donations are welcome as well.  Any size contribution helps to keep our community space open for events, shows, discussions, classes, performances and most importantly for you! We are grateful for your support. And with our rent going up we are working on various ways to bring in more money to cover expenses, so SubRosa can continue to be around as a vibrant community space, as it has for the past 9 years. And Thanks!
***Note:  You can choose how regularly you contribute to SubRosa and the default on the website is weekly.  This can be changed to other time frames as well.  Also, the Action Network, which hosts the fundraiser requests a "tip" and this can also be adjusted from the default of 10% to "no tip" or even more.

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
