Really Really Free Market! No money. No trades. Everything is free. This market is based on a gift-economy... capitalism NO! But come to the really really free market to give away your old stuff and/or get new-to-you stuff. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. Don't be late and be sure to check in with the organizers when you get there. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.

-Saturday, August 31st, 6pm:  Meadow Singers, Bright Raven, Kite Hands Glowing

Meadow Singers is the musical project of Mathew Harmon, a singer-songwriter based in Santa Cruz, CA.  His songs invoke images of wild places, of water rushing, and wind rustling through tree canopies.  The music of Meadow Singers is that of Longing; for home, for love, for the unknown question waiting to be asked.  https://meadowsingers.bandcamp.com

Bright Raven tours her new EP, "Go," a collection of songs from her inner child. Compared to the likes of Feist and Jeff Buckley. Listen here: https://soundcloud.com/user-825907350/albums

Kite Hands Glowing - is the musical project of Nadia Lucia Peralta alone and sometimes with friends. Kite Hands Glowing is my heart's lil melodies coming out onto piano and guitar, and lately has been getting amplified. This show in particular is going to be an homage to Crete, Greece and Ajachamen Territory, Dana Point, CA, which look remarkably alike, and which I had the pleasure of swimming in both their waters this summer. Come check it out!  https://kitehandsglowing.bandcamp.com

SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space, a place to meet others and challenge our assumptions and act on our passions. We strive to create a vibrant environment for events, classes, meetings, organizing, performance, art, studying and more. SubRosa also offers radical literature for sale, and houses the Anarchist Lending Library. We welcome folks to join us in fostering an environment free from coercion, sexism, homophobia, racism, and other hierarchies.

SubRosa is in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is unceded land of the Awaswas-speaking Ohlone people.

And SubRosa is part of a larger community center called The Hub. Check out the Hub's facebook, website & instagram for info regarding other Hub projects! https://www.facebook.com/santacruzhub/ and  http://www.santacruzhub.org  and https://www.instagram.com/santacruzhub/

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
