This Saturday, December 14th

  join us at SubRosa for...

A Brunch to Benefit SubRosa! 10am to 12pm Put on your warm woollies and come down to Subrosa to enjoy a yummy brunch, (a)live music, and good folks (hopefully including yourself)!

Donate $5-$20 to Support SubRosa  This is an anti-capitalist space and our reason to exist is not focused on making money...at the same time we do have rent and bills to pay, so this benefit is an opportunity for you to support the space, so we in the collective can continue to focus our energies on running a community anarchist space and not on scrambling for cash.

Afterward from Noon-3pm...

Bring your Free Box and peruse other people's Free Boxes at the REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET! It's like a swap meet, but FREE!

No money. No trades. Everything is free. This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism sucks. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. At the end, please take away left over items that you brought with you.

Maybe there is a show in the evening...I am not sure, call or come on down to SubRosa to find out for sure.

Other stuff is also going on around town, not associated with SubRosa,
but since SubRosa is an infoshop, here is some info for you!

And from the Forest Walkers:  As the season turns and redwood needles drop, we invite you to set foot in the amazing forest that is threatened by UCSC expansion. Walks are free and hosted by volunteers, with no university sponsorship.  https://www.facebook.com/saveuppercampus

Sunday, Dec. 15th: Honoring our Pain- 12pm @ N. Remote
The forest welcomes both life and death in their fullness. The cycles of decay, growth, change, transition, and birth are embraced as nourishment. In the dominant culture we live in, there is often little space for being with the grief and pain we experience. For this walk, we will come together to honor our pain in the forest, a place that knows the value and beauty of the hard things that are inside of us. This a silent walk, that will culminate in a ceremony to honor and move through our grief. / RSVP helpful but not required. The content of this walk may be intense for children. Feel free to contact us if you would like more details: palerobin@riseup.net

Also, go to the Free Skool website: calendar here and read Winter schedule online and/or print your own copy.  And there are also calendars around town.  Let's have an active and inspiring fall and winter together.  You can also go to the in-your-face-book thingy at https://www.facebook.com/freeskoolsantacruz

and check out Santa Cruz Indybay for news and information and contribute your own voice!

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
