Really Really Free Market: No money. No trades.Everything is free

No money. No trades. Everything is free!

This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism is horrible. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki; we can help you set up if you let us know before hand). Come and take what you can use. We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. Requirements: Mutual respect. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market. https://www.facebook.com/events/1726043820819283/

And on this May 1st day I present these links...

Summary from this podcast: Happy May Day! To celebrate the anniversary of the strike that led to Haymarket, and the 8 anarchists executed for it (two of whom were anarchist media producers themselves!) we bring you our favorite anarchist news reporting from throughout history. As an anarchist news show ourselves, we wanted to pay homage to all the anarchist newspapers, zines, and other media projects that have inspired us. You'll hear reports from as far back as the Paris Commune, the punny and irreverent 1980s British organization Class War, a 1977 article in Fifth Estate about this newfangled thing called punk rock, coverage of the very first nationwide-called-for black bloc in the US, a firsthand report from the streets of Seattle in 1999, and much more. We'll even have guest appearances by other anarchist podcasters, like MC Sole, the Stimulator, The Final Straw's William Goodenuff, and our friends from Resonance Audio Distro.

Today is Beltane. Today is Mayday. People are dancing. People are being shot.

***and personally, I appreciate SubRosa and places where we can relate with each other where commerce isn't the rationale for our relating...to have spaces where we can be more free...to be...to also push against a society and culture that puts a price on everything.  I'm for collective liberation...for all beings...human and for the other creatures we share this earth with...with much gratitude for this living earth as well.  -j!

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
