Thursday - Sunday at SubRosa!!!

-Thursday, August 2nd, 4 - 7pm:  Queercuts / Gay Clothing Swap!

Queercuts is back! With a Gay Clothing Swap! We'll be holding a free box with *gender affirming* clothes during our open hours from 4-7pm on Aug 2nd!

Items like binders, make-up, ties and such will be there courtesy of those who've donated to the Diversity Center. Others are welcome to bring clothes as well to expand this queer wardrobe! Think of it like our Really Really Free Market but a miniature gay version. So come through and shave the side of your head! Upgrade your profesh 9-5 look! Or just shave that shit off entirely! Cuts will be provided by talented neighborhood barbers and done in an inclusive space! (Barbers/Clippers/Scissors are welcome to donate talent too!!) All reasonable folks welcomed. https://www.facebook.com/events/255514445245012/

-Friday, August 3rd, 6 - 9pm:  Art Show Opening: "Small Spells" by Abacus Corvus

"Small Spells" is a collection of paintings by Abacus Corvus. Each collaboration offers an image and intention, and the viewer's invited to use them like a lens to focus energy, or like a prism to broadcast blessings widely.

Abacus Corvus is the creative collaboration of Corina Dross and Jocelyn (Jo) Mosser—illustrators, writers, healers, sisters, and good friends. Corina Dross will be present at the closing reception on August 31st, with hand-sewn archival prints available that day only. (the flyer reads August 1st for opening but it's actually Friday the 3rd!). https://www.facebook.com/events/2534159740144545/

-Saturday, August 4th, 12 - 3pm:  Really Really Free Market // & a show in the evening!!!

No money. No trades. Everything is free. This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism is death. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. Requirements: Mutual respect. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.  https://www.facebook.com/events/703379463342638/

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
