Trump has threatened, after July 4th, to send ICE to do roundups of people who crossed the border by necessity and not necessarily by permission.  That means people in our community here may be targeted.  Here's some info about how to offer support.  From YARR (Your Allied Rapid Response) https://www.facebook.com/YARRsantacruz/ and Sanctuary Santa Cruz https://www.facebook.com/sanctuarysantacruz/ // And here's a few readings with more info HOW U.S. CITIZENS CAN SUPPORT THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY DURING TRUMP'S ATTACK? https://weareheretostay.org/ifyouseeice/ and AS TRUMP ANNOUNCES MASS IMMIGRATION RAID, DOCUMENTS SHOW HOW ICE USES ARREST QUOTAS https://theintercept.com/2019/07/03/ice-raids-arrest-quotas/ // There's so much news about the atrocities taking place daily... from the concentration camps on the border, how children are being neglected, border patrol vile secret facebook group and so on. // And there are many stories about how we can care for each other, how people persevere and continue to push against walls that will one day fall.

SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space, a place to meet others and challenge our assumptions and act on our passions. We strive to create a vibrant environment for events, classes, meetings, organizing, performance, art, studying and more. SubRosa also offers radical literature for sale, and houses the Anarchist Lending Library. We welcome folks to join us in fostering an environment free from coercion, sexism, homophobia, racism, and other hierarchies.

SubRosa is in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is unceded land of the Awaswas-speaking Ohlone people.

And SubRosa is part of a larger community center called The Hub. Check out the Hub's facebook, website & instagram for info regarding other Hub projects! https://www.facebook.com/santacruzhub/ and  http://www.santacruzhub.org  and https://www.instagram.com/santacruzhub/

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
