Two Things You can Do To Support the Space

SubRosa is in its third year, almost four.  It still seems almost as startling to us today as it did in October 2008 that we were able to create a radical community space right downtown in one of the most expensive places in the world.

This is community organizing in action.  SubRosa is a place where people meet to organize, find radical books and literature, learn at free skool classes and workshops, and be inspired by art and performance.  This is a unique place, unlike any other place in Santa Cruz.

Why SubRosa?

There are many ways you can support the space and ensure that it continues to operate and thrive.  Here are two of them:

SubRosa Needs Volunteers

SubRosa is an all-volunteer space.  We put energy into SubRosa to create a vibrant community space available for events, classes, and meetings, collaborations and organizing, art and creativity, as well as reading and studying.  We are looking for more volunteers and staffers.

As a staffer, you'd commit to taking a regular shift, participating in collective decision-making about the space, and in time, bottom-lining important tasks.

If you are interested in applying, please email subrosa-staffing@riseup.net  For more information about the new staffer process, check out the new staffer page.  For more info about how SubRosa works, the nitty-gritty and nuts-and-bolts, check out Recipes for a Successful Infoshop.

Support SubRosa With Your Donations

SubRosa is a non-profit, donation-funded space.  Though we offer coffee and literature, it's part of our mission to provide a community space outside the realm of commerce. Your donations enable this community supported space to remain available. We are grateful for your support.

Support SubRosa Community Space

SubRosa is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) non-profit and your donation is tax-deductible.  We can accept donations by check, money order, or credit/debit card.  We also offer you an option to make a monthly commitment to support the space.$20/month for a year is typical.

To donate, go to our support page or email subrosa@riseup.net and we will get back to you right away.

With love and respect,
The SubRosa Collective

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
