-Friday, August 31st, 10am - 1pm:  Tarot Readings with Corina Dross

Readings are an intimate collaboration, tailored to what's most important for you. Each reading honors your power and creativity. Each reading offers strategies to support your growth and healing.

Corina deftly weaves storytelling and social justice into her astrology practice, creating richer, fuller narratives that acknowledge complexities, histories, and multiple paths.'  Corina offers birth chart readings, relationship readings and one question readings.

Readings are sliding scale $75-125 for an hour, $45 for half an hour. Both include MP3 recordings of the session. She's also offering 15 minute walk-in sessions (not recorded) for $20.   And here's a link to her site although the listed prices are different: http://www.flaxandgold.com/readings/

And in the evening! 6pm!

Small Spells // closing art show reception

"Small Spells" is a collection of paintings by Abacus Corvus. Each collaboration offers an image and intention, and the viewer's invited to use them like a lens to focus energy, or like a prism to broadcast blessings widely.

Abacus Corvus is the creative collaboration of Corina Dross and Jocelyn (Jo) Mosser—illustrators, writers, healers, sisters, and good friends.

Corina Dross will be present at the closing reception on August 31st, with hand-sewn archival prints available that day only.  https://www.facebook.com/events/492114091287147/

-Saturday, September 1st, 12pm - 3pm:  Really Really Free Market

No money. No trades. Everything is free. This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism is death. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. Requirements: Mutual respect. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market. https://www.facebook.com/events/291114031475537/

Plus a message from the Hub (The Hub is the space where SubRosa is located, of which we are just one of many projects at the Hub...which also includes the Fábrica, the Bike Church, PedX and more!!!)

Hello. I'm asking for your financial support (You can click on this link to go the Hub website and donation page http://www.santacruzhub.org/donate.html). We have some exciting changes at the Hub Community Center, and along with that came some complications. Here's the story... the Fábrica is moving to the front office and new folk from Sanctuary Santa Cruz are moving into their old space. Unfortunately, there was a major plumbing issue which delayed the moves, so the old Fábrica space wasn't cleared to move into...so we at the Hub are short on that rent. We'd ideally like to raise $500 which would cover half a month for the old Fábrica space and some of the money can also go to help the Fábrica folk pay for their current space, which they've not been able to use yet (they're putting it together now!). And all donations are tax exempt as the Hub is a501(c)3 non-profit organization. And thanks for any financial support you can offer and please help spread the word. -j!

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
