Also from our neighbors in Monterey...

Theory & Philosophy Reading Group XVII: Anarchist Critiques of Democracy The Direct Action Monterey Network "isn't interested in having long conversations condemning one shitty politician or another during this year's charade of democracy", and instead they're going to join together with other anarchists and radicals to deconstruct the concept of "democracy" itself.

They will be collaborating with CrimethInc., a decentralized anarchist collective, and other anarchist reading groups and cells around the world to have an interactive discussion on the nature of democracy. This will be part of their Theory and Philosophy Reading Group for the summer 2016 months.

Join folks from Direct Action Monterey Thursday 19 May, 7pm at Old Capitol Books, 559 Tyler Street, downtown Monterey.  Readings:  "From Democracy to Freedom"  (Available online) and "The Party's Over" (Available online).

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
